Does anybody have a wiring manual for an old Narco UAT-1 transponder. I want
to install a mode C encoder to my unit.
This is what Narco says:
Mr. Schneider,
You can not directly add an encoder to the UAT 1. The signal levels are
not
compatible. Narco manufactured an adapter called the ARA 812 interface box
to support encoders. The ARA 812 has been out of production for 20 years or
more. Also the UAT 1 is illegal if not TSO'd to class C74c. The remote box
should have a label affixed with the TSO data.
Narco

But another avionics person said that his manual shows how to install an
encoder directly. I have not been able to re-contact this other person to
get a copy of his manual. Can anybody help me here?
P.S. My unit is TSO'd.
